You guys should be super excited, because I was lucky enough to get to read an early, pre-pub copy of this one, and it is to die for. Like a classic movie, this book brings out the full range of emotions: laughter, sympathy, tears, and oh-my-dear-sweet-hotness romance! The hero is so memorable, I've had dreams about him.  Before I met Maria Geraci, I had never heard of bunco. It's true! But once I read her fun, funny first book, Bunco Babes Tell All, I was desperate to try it. I wrote 50 pages last week, which was great, but afterward my brain felt mushy like overcooked spinach and I ended up slacking off on the page count all weekend. I did a lot of thinking about the book, which is a huge part of my process, but still, when the time came to get my rear back in gear yesterday, I struggled to hit my stride.
Today? That's not an option. I must produce! So I'm heading into the zone (where there is no Twitter, no email, and in fact, no internet) and not coming back out until I have at least ten pages written. If I can get more than that? Great. But ten is the minimum. My plan is to reread and polish the last chapter I wrote to get me back into the story, then surge forward.
How do you get yourself in the writing zone? Music? Images? I'm open to suggestions!
Oh, and one quick thing before I unplug--today is the release day for Maria Geraci's fabulous, fun, sexy debut, Bunco Babes Tell All!  This is the quintessential beach read, people. Everybody who's anybody is going to be at Deidre Knight's GODS OF MIDNIGHT PARTY. When is it taking place? At midnight of course! Duh! So if you've made plans to jet down to Orlando in April, make sure to put Deidre Knight's party on your must-do itinerary for Thursday night! I've heard there will be games, party favors, and a special appearance by some extremely hot cover models. So lace on your sandals and tie on your togas and head for the Citrus Ballrooms at midnight on Thursday, April 23rd!
