The Rules:

  1. Go to page 77 of your current MS.
  2. Go to line 7.
  3. Copy down the next 7 lines/sentences, and post them as they’re written. No cheating.
  4. Tag 7 other victims …er, authors.

Fun! Okay, here goes:

"But I want you to know, that's not why I came here. I'm not looking for a handout. I’ve got a decent job at the Empire Arms, even if my boss is kind of a dick. I can take care of myself and my kid."
Jo didn’t doubt that. But she was also aware that the timing of this long-awaited visit was no coincidence. No matter what Maddie said, a big part of her reasons for coming to Sanctuary now were pretty close to the reasons Jo had first come here to live with Aunt Dottie when she hit rock bottom all those years ago.

She scowled. "Did you really believe it would be easier for me, or was it simply less painful for you?"
"Addie, please believe--"
"You behaved like a coward," she spat. "And I've been suffering for it ever since." She walked over and yanked her coat off the rack, shoving her arms into it. She glanced over at him and saw he had turned, was watching her. "We were supposed to be a team, you and I. My father's death was something we should have faced together..."

Ana, I love that!

He moved around to the other side of her and she felt his hand brush the hair from her neck and behind her ear. Once the second earring was in, her cupped her chin tenderly in his warm hand.
“Hey. None of that.” His fingertips gently swept the tears away, his warm palm smoothing her hair.
Her arms were heavy, as she was physically spent by the weight of his gift. Yes, the earrings were absolutely gorgeous and way too much. But it was the thought that went into it. He’d remembered an offhanded comment about diamond earrings. That’s what mattered to her. That he’d listened and remembered.

That's sweet! Nothing like a thoughtful hero...

I can't wait to get my paws on this one! Fortunately, I know people...

Thanks, Louisa! : )
