Is there a kid in your life who doesn't like to read? Check out this handy Top Ten list from the Young Adult Library Services Assoc of quick picks for reluctant readers. And look who's #1 on the list! My friend, and truly fabulous author, Ann Aguirre, with the first book in her dark, addictive, post-apocalyptic YA series, Enclave.

In honor of her inclusion on this very cool list, I'm giving away a signed copy of Enclave today! So if you've got a reluctant OR an eager reader of YA books in your life (or if you are one, yourself) this is definitely the giveaway for you. And in case you need more convincing about how awesome Enclave is, check out the extremely cool book trailer:

The first novel I remember voluntarily reading was Shanna by Kathleen Woodiwiss. I swiped it from my mom and read it under the covers with a flashlight when I was 12. As an adult, I rekindled my love of reading with a Nora Roberts book. Sadly, I don't remember the title. I do know that I was working as a substitute teacher and the book was on the teacher's desk. I got hooked and had to go buy it that afternoon so I could see how the story ended!

I think it was either Are you There God it Me Margret? or Sweet Valley High books. As an adult it was Catherine Coulter Star series.

The first book I remember picking out at the school library was The Door into Summer by Robert A. Heinlein, after that it was The First Men on the Moon by H. G. Wells. I find sanctuary in other worlds.
Thank you for this giveaway!

The Secret of the Old Clock a Nancy Drew mystery. My mother always read to us, and I know that is why my brother and I love to read. My fifth grade teacher was also a wonderful lady, who read the Hobbit to us and that opened new worlds of reading as well.

And the winner is: TANIA! Email me your address at louisa @ louisaedwards . com, and I'll send your prize right out. Thank you to everyone else who commented!

Congrats Tania!
